LegalWhat Paintune
will not make.
A short list of things the model refuses, why, and what happens when someone tries anyway.
The short version
Do not use Paintune to make images that hurt people, deceive people about who made them or what they show, or that would be illegal to make by any other means.
Not permitted
- Sexual content involving minors, or any depiction of a minor in a sexualised way. Enforced absolutely, and reported where the law requires it.
- Non-consensual imagery of real people — including intimate imagery, and images made to depict an identifiable person doing or saying something they did not.
- Political deception — fabricated imagery of real politicians, officials or events presented as real.
- Harassment — content that threatens, degrades or incites violence against a person or group.
- Fraudulent documents — identification, currency, certificates, or anything meant to pass as an authentic record.
- Commercial deception — fake evidence, fabricated product photography of goods that do not exist, forged endorsements or reviews.
- Trademark passing-off — deliberately reproducing a third party’s brand identity to present work as theirs.
- Anything unlawful where you or your users are.
How we enforce it
Prompts are checked before generation and outputs before delivery. Blocked requests are logged. A first accidental trip gets a warning; repeated or deliberate breaches end your access. We report what the law requires us to report, and no more.
The genuinely difficult cases
Satire, art, education, journalism and historical work can all legitimately touch subjects this policy otherwise restricts. We would rather look at a real case than write a rule that catches the wrong things.
If you have a use that sits near a line and you think it is defensible, ask us first. Asking has never counted against anyone.
Reporting something
If you find an image generated with Paintune that breaches this policy, tell us at hello@paintune.com. Include the image and where you found it if you can. Content credentials in the file will tell us which generation it came from.
Changes
This list will grow as we encounter things we did not anticipate. Material changes are announced rather than quietly edited in.
